Founded in 1904, Hinsdale Hospital was the first medical center in DuPage County. It is a 462-bed facility noted for the comprehensive diagnostic and treatment programs available in its Opler Cancer Center and the Rooney Heart Institute. Hinsdale Hospital has been a leader in maternity care since the turn of the 20th century with the delivery of the area's first baby in a hospital setting. Other services include mental healthcare and chemical dependency treatments. Hinsdale Hospital's 550+ physicians provide quality care covering a wide spectrum of medical specialties. Over half of the staff have teaching appointments. Hinsdale Hospital is located at 120 North Oak Street, near the east end of Hinsdale, along the Burlington Railroad.
