The public schools of the village are operated by Community Consolidated School District 15, Township High School District 211, Illinois School District U-46, Community Unit School District 300, Community Consolidated School District 54 and Barrington Community Unit School District 220.
Private schools include St. Hubert Catholic School; Montessori Learning Center, Inc.; Advance Preschool, Inc.; Betty’s Day Care Center; Beth Tikvah Congregation - Early Childhood Center; Montessori School of North Hoffman Estates and Small World Children’s Center.

Students looking to proceed to a college or university education can choose from several fine schools at a relatively close distance. Northern Illinois University located in DeKalb, Illinois is just about 40 miles from Hoffman Estates. William Rainey Harper College in Palatine lies only about six miles from the village and provides an excellent community college experience. Founded in 1949, Elgin Community College is just about 8 miles away. Roosevelt University has two locations to make earning a degree easier. The Chicago campus sits on Michigan Avenue and the closer Schaumburg location is conveniently located on Roosevelt Boulevard.
