Location and Transportation

Located just 11 miles southwest of Chicago, Homer Township is bordered by Lockport to the west, Orland Park to the east, Lemont to the north and New Lenox to the south. Residents and businesses enjoy taking advantage of easy access to Interstates 80, 55 and 355.

Plans have been made for a southern extension of I-355 through the western half of Homer Township which will provide a quick, convenient commute for those working in Chicago and the northern, northwestern and western suburbs.

Chicago’s O’Hare International and Midway Airports are less than an hour’s drive away. Even closer is Lewis Airport at Lewis University in Romeoville which serves smaller, private and corporate air traffic.

Efficient passenger/commuter rail service to and from downtown Chicago, and all points in-between, is provided by Metra. Stations are located in the adjacent communities of Lockport, Orland Park, Mokena, Lemont and New Lenox.
