Homer Township is a vibrant, growing community in the southwest Chicago suburbs that has, as of July 1, 2008, an estimated population of 36,649—although, with the results of the 2010 Census soon to be released, that number will most likely increase. We have a small-town ambience with plenty of open space, historical amenities and friendly neighborhoods with easy access to a wide array of shopping, employment opportunities and recreational activities. We are endowed with ample cultural resources including our many parks, excellent schools, good restaurants, a fine public library and youth and senior citizen programs. Our residents enjoy the benefit of numerous civic organizations, low crime and responsive emergency services.
Depending on the season, there’s always plenty going on. Come celebrate with our community at the annual Independence Day Parade, children’s Halloween Party and Christmas Tree Lighting. Join us as we pay homage to our agricultural roots with the Homer Harvest Days event in September by visiting the local farms as they host their assorted spring and fall activities, or bring home some fresh goods from the local farm stands in summer. These are amongst the many attributes that make Homer Township an exceptional place to live, work and raise a family. Please let us know how we can serve you.
Sincerely,
Pam Meyers, Supervisor
