Homer Township is an inviting enclave in the midst of the southwest Chicago suburbs. The majority of the township’s housing is relatively new, making for a very appealing, move-in-ready community. Its history and open spaces have not gone unpreserved and many neighborhoods are well-established with mature, tree-lined streets.
Once a rural location, the remnants of Homer Township’s pastoral past add heritage and ambiance to the wide variety of homes in the area—from townhomes, ranches and split-levels to sprawling estates and beyond. In 2008, the median price of a detached single-family home was just short of $400,000, but price points vary considerably, making it easy to transition into the community on any budget.
Homer Township’s location is ideal for young professionals; however, there are several high-quality senior living communities in the area, including Marian Village and Victorian Village in Homer Glen, and the township-sponsored independent living senior facility known as Founder’s Crossings.
