contentsHomer Township IL Chamberads

Location & Transportation

motorcycles

Homer Township is located about 10 miles from Chicago’s city limits and 25 miles from downtown Chicago. Interstate 80 is easily reached, as is Interstate 355, thanks to the beneficial extension that now stretches an additional 12.5 miles to reach Interstate 80. This new extension, which opened for use in November of 2007, will not only connect the quickly growing Will County with other major Chicagoland areas more efficiently, but also aims to reduce travel time by approximately 20 percent.

Commuter trains run between the city of Chicago and several nearby communities. Convenient access to several Interstate highways connects Homer Township to Chicago, O’Hare and Midway airports, suburbs in the collar counties, northwest Indiana, and all major metropolitan areas in the Midwest. Approximately half of the nation’s gross domestic product is produced within a 500-mile radius of Homer Township.

Freight rail, barge facilities, and the Joliet Regional Port District’s Lewis University Airport (LOT) are all just minutes away.
