For those pursuing higher education, Governors State University in University Park and Prairie State College in Chicago Heights provide outstanding continuing education opportunities for Flossmoor residents. There are endless opportunities for fun as a resident of Flossmoor! The Homewood-Flossmoor Park District owns 33 park sites and maintains 220 acres of land. South Suburban Hospital, a 270-bed acute care facility located in nearby Hazel Crest, provides patients with a wide range of inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic and ambulatory services that utilize state-of-the-art medical technology. American Day Treatment Center in Flossmoor, affiliated with the Northwestern Medical Faculty Foundation, provides a comprehensive psychiatric day program for adolescents and adults. Other reputable hospitals, all within a short drive from Flossmoor, include Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, Olympia Fields Osteopathic Medical Center and St. James Hospital Medical Center in Chicago Heights.
