Since
1960, Huntley has had its own newspaper called The Huntley Farmside, featuring
local news and published every Thursday. For a small town, Huntley has
a well-established park district. Its "jewel" is Deicke Park,
located on Rt. 47. In the last five years, School District 158 has outgrown
its Lincoln Street facilities and a new Jr./Sr. High School was built
on Harmony Rd. Presently there are two new elementary schools under construction,
scheduled to open in the fall of 2000 - one at the Harmony Rd. campus
and one on Reed Rd. Huntley has a large and beautiful new library, completed
in the summer of 1999. With the larger facility, expanded programs and
larger, more comprehensive collections and materials, the library is serving
more people than ever.
