Welcome to Hyde Park

Having been home through the years to such notable figures as Muhammad Ali, Marshall Field and the 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama, Hyde Park has enjoyed rich notoriety along with spectacular lakeshore views on Chicago’s south side. Just minutes from the bustling downtown of the Windy City, Hyde Park has cultural offerings in its own right, including the academically rigorous University of Chicago, the Museum of Science and Industry and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House, an impressive piece of Prairie-style architecture dating back to 1910.

Hyde Park enjoys proximity to Chicago’s downtown and several historic and cultural landmarks, but rounding out its appeal is the fact that it is one of Chicago’s most ethnically and culturally diverse neighborhoods. The neighborhood is compact, comprising an area just over one square mile, and its location about seven miles outside of the Loop makes it one of the most ideally situated neighborhoods for families in Chicago city limits.
