Hyde
Park is located on the south side of Chicago, established between U.S.
41 (Lake Shore Drive) to the east and just inside the I-90/94 expressway
to the west. East 47th Street borders the north while E 61st Street defines
the southern border. Park land surrounds Hyde Park on three sides, embracing
us like a hug. Such topography provides a sense of welcome isolation without
alienating our citizens from the larger metropolis that is Chicago. More
than 10,000 vehicles travel daily along 53rd Street; 13,900 vehicles traffic
daily in Lake Park.
I-90/94 and Lake Shore Drive provide access
to the heart of Chicago within a mere 15 minutes. Direct Metra and CTA
routes with several stops throughout Hyde Park make the trip even more
hassle-free.
