Task Force

Thanks to the Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce’s recruitment programs, active involvement with many community groups and politicians, new businesses open frequently in the city’s zoned areas. Retail thrives along our attractive, newly landscaped streets featuring new lighting, trees, additional planting, improved sidewalks and curbs, graphicas well as with hanging flower baskets decorating our new light poles. Likewise, the City of Chicago’s Business Express program fills in as a liaison between entrepreneurs and the appropriate myriad city agencies available to help. Special targeted advertising programs also give members a leg up on the competition.

Among the other benefits our 200+ members enjoy: health insurance, unemployment compensation cost control, IBM technology at discount, member referral service, car rental discounts, banner program, Borders book discounts, customer service training and Liberty Mutual insurance discounts. The Chamber supports local school efforts, as well as the 4th of July Parade and Picnic, the 57th Street Children’s Book Fair, Neighbors Eve, the Community Art Fair and many more projects.

The South East Chicago Commission also offers significant contributions to the area. Entrepreneurs count on this ally’s help in locating prime available commercial real estate and dealing with crime. And if you desire assistance with your business’ signage, storefronts and awnings, these are the experts who can help.

Several community and regional banks maintain branches in Hyde Park, where loan officers cheerfully walk business owners through the process of securing business loans and necessary revolving lines of credit.
