Business travelers in the Itasca area looking for hotels that are geared toward meeting their needs will be pleased with some of the latest changes at the new Hyatt Place (formerly AmeriSuites) and the updated Holiday Inn Itasca. Both properties have transformed their previous offerings, highlighting improved amenities and services that are tailored to their particular customers.
The Holiday Inn Itasca has responded to feedback from its business travelers and, based on that information, installed an Executive Business Center in December of 2006. The center includes computer work stations and printing capabilities. Also, complimentary high-speed Internet access was added with wireless connectivity in all public and meeting areas.
This Holiday Inn offers guests a total of 7,000 square feet of various meeting spaces that can accommodate 500 people, an on-site fitness center that was renovated in 2004 and a lovely indoor pool. In addition, there is a complimentary shuttle service that operates within a five-mile radius, and also one that takes patrons to the train—a convenient way to get to Chicago for meetings (or a little shopping) without having to rent a car or take a taxi.
Those wanting to eat on the premises will find The Marketplace Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also Player’s Court Lounge, which provides a gathering spot for informal meetings or a little down time. Room service is also available from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Hyatt Place has also responded to the needs of business travelers, and has noted the fact that people are leading “blended lives,” making it difficult to separate business and pleasure easily. This has caused Hyatt to create a variety of places and spaces for its customers to both work and unwind—thus—the new Hyatt Place concept. One such feature is the Gallery, complete with a “Gallery Host” representative that handles a variety of tasks, from checking guests in to providing personal tours. The Gallery also provides a self-registration kiosk, free Wi-Fi, a TV den area and an e-room with access to a computer and printer that are available for guests to use. There is also a coffee and wine café and bakery located in this area of the hotel.
Rooms feature contemporary décor, including the Hyatt Grand Bed™, which comes complete with a Sealy Posturepedic mattress and down blanket and pillows, and an eight-foot, “L” shaped sleeper sofa. Hyatt Place also pampers guests with an in-room media center, including a 42” flat panel, high-definition TV and the “Hyatt Plug Panel” which allows a variety of electronics to seamlessly integrate with the television set.
Dining options are different here; the hotel’s unique “Guest Kitchen” concept has fresh specialty items that vary throughout the day. Easy ordering can be completed from a touch screen menu or through the Gallery Host. The touch screen allows guests to swipe their room key and charge menu selections to their room for convenience. There is also a case with quick food items such as sandwiches and muffins that is available for patrons 24 hours a day.
Other amenities here include a fitness center offering Life Fitness equipment and built-in television screens. Complimentary shuttle transportation within a five-mile radius is also available from this hotel. In addition, Monday through Friday there is a free shuttle to O’Hare Airport from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Holiday Inn Itasca and Hyatt Place are both responding to the ever-changing needs of the business traveler. From updating their technology, to highlighting fitness areas and providing complimentary transportation options, both of these places remain committed to evolving with their customers and knowing what they want in a hotel property experience.
