

Joliet is truly fortunate to be afforded such ample opportunities for recreation and leisure through the exceptional offerings of the Joliet Park District. The Park District’s long list of facilities, programming and activities for residents of all ages has made it quite a gem in the community.

GOLF COURSES Golfers, from novice to expert, can take pleasure in the Park District’s three beautiful golf courses. Each plays host to the Joliet Park District’s Open Golf Championship, along with a number of additional events. Additional amenities found through the courses include lighted driving ranges, large practice greens and concession facilities.

• INWOOD GOLF COURSE Access the well-maintained Inwood Golf Course, which stretches over 6,196 yards of play for a Par 71.
• WEDGEWOOD GOLF COURSE Host to the Joliet Amateur Golf Tournament, Wedgewood Golf Course is comprised of 6,836 yards for a Par 72.
• WOODRUFF GOLF COURSE The oldest of the three Joliet Park District courses, Woodruff Golf Course presents the annual Ladies Invitational Tournament at its beautiful 5,424-yard, Par 68 facility.
HARTMAN RECREATION CENTER Located next to Sator Sanchez Memorial Park, the Hartman Recreation Center is equipped with a full-size gymnasium, weight room, multi-purpose room and a year-round listing of programs, activities and special events.

INWOOD ICE ARENA Open to the public all year, the Inwood Ice Arena offers skating enthusiasts plenty of opportunities for such ice athletics as hockey and figure skating, plus public skate programs.
INWOOD SPORTS COMPLEX The vast Inwood Sports Complex houses the Harlow Lockwood Softball Fields—totaling six lighted softball fields—six soccer fields and playground equipment. The outdoor sports area is utilized by the U.S. Slow-Pitch Softball Association, as well as by high school and intercollegiate sports teams.
JOLIET MEMORIAL STADIUM The Joliet Raiders Youth Football Organization, Joliet Catholic Academy High School Football, University of St. Francis Football and the Joliet Junior College Football teams all take advantage of the amenities provided at the Joliet Memorial Stadium. Residents can also find the Taste of Joliet and the Annual July 4th Celebration at the stadium each year.

MULTI-PURPOSE CENTER Hundreds of opportunities for recreation are available through the Multi-Purpose Center, a popular facility that offers two indoor gymnasiums, a multi-purpose room, a number of program rooms and a wealth of programs—most notably, the Joliet Park District’s Special Recreation division, geared toward the area’s special needs residents.
NOWELL PARK Spanning 20 acres in the Joliet community, Nowell Park offers plenty of outdoor leisure opportunities ranging from ball fields and tennis courts to picnic sites, playground equipment and an abundance of open space.PILCHER PARK More than 640 acres comprise Pilcher Park, the perfect spot for outdoor recreation and educational endeavors. Playground equipment, picnic areas, trails for hiking, biking and cross-country and three excellent educational facilities comprise this treasured site.

• ANDREW B. BARBER AND CLARENCE D. OBERWORTMANN HORTICULTURAL CENTER A multi- purpose room, Resource Center, covered deck and a number of programs and events can be accessed within this 12,000-square- foot facility.
• BIRD HAVEN GREENHOUSE AND CONSERVATORY Situated adjacent to the Barber and Oberwortmann Horticultural Center, the Bird Haven Greenhouse and Conservatory spans three acres within Pilcher Park. The facility was developed in the early 1900s and features Tropical and Desert Houses and a showroom ideal for vibrant floral shows. A variety of programs and special events can be found here year-round.
• PILCHER PARK NATURE CENTER Learn about Joliet’s local flora and fauna through the Pilcher Park Nature Center, which offers an array of educational programs and events for youth and adults.

PROVENA ST. JOSEPH INWOOD ATHLETIC CLUB Located adjacent to the Multi-Purpose Center, the 65,000-square-foot Inwood Athletic Club is the perfect facility for all one’s health and fitness needs. The club features an indoor pool, a 10,000-square-foot fitness floor, an indoor walk/run track and an assortment of programs.
SPLASH STATION During the warmer months, residents take advantage of Joliet’s extensive outdoor water park. Attractions found at Splash Station include a 250,000-gallon zero-depth pool, a 200-foot racing slide, two body slides, two tube slides, an 850-foot lazy river and a sand-filled play area.
