The business environment in Lake County, fueled by the presence of approximately 28,000 diverse businesses, remains strong and highly active. A number of major U.S. corporations have made a home in Lake County, notably Abbott Laboratories, Baxter Healthcare Corporation, Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, WMS Gaming, Yaskawa Electric America and the Vista Health System. Supplementing these large-scale corporations are thousands of smaller manufacturing, distribution, service and professional firms, along with a multitude of home-based operations.

More than 50 business and industrial parks, plus a commercial slip and two recreational marinas, are readily available to accommodate new and expanding businesses. Lake County’s location affords it unsurpassed transportation options with the availability of a number of major highways and both regional and international airports. Industrial and commercial real estate taxes have remained low, and excellent incentives for relocation and expansion are made available to qualified manufacturers and other business operations.
Lake County is well-supplied with a variety of organizations dedicated to ensuring the success of local businesses and the communities served. In addition to the Lake County Chamber of Commerce and numerous training and educational facilities, is the progressive Lake County Partners. An economic development corporation, Lake County Partners works to maintain and enhance the economic vitality and overall quality of life in the county by attracting, retaining and expanding business ventures; championing measures for infrastructure improvements; and leading a range of important economic initiatives.
