Southern McHenry County

Located just 45 miles northwest of Chicago in southern McHenry County, Lake in the Hills offers a rural and historic setting an hour's drive from one of the world's busiest cities. Lake in the Hills is situated eight miles from I-90, taking commuters and shoppers directly into Chicago, or connecting drivers to I-290 and I-294. North-south State Roads 31 and 47 border the Village to the east and west. Randall Road, which passes through the Village, runs from I-90 to Crystal Lake.

The Lake in the Hills Airport boasts a 3,800-foot asphalt runway, available for landings 24 hours a day. It is a designated reliever airport to O'Hare International Airport, which is just a 45-minute drive to the east, and Chicago's Midway Airport is an hour's drive to the southeast.
