Have you ever visited a place and couldn’t find anywhere to stay for the night? Lake Zurich was such a place…until now. For many years, visitors of Lake Zurich had to travel to nearby locations in order to find a hotel, but that is no longer the case. MPH Hotels, Inc. is building a Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites at 197 S. Rand Road in Lake Zurich.

“The LakeZurich/ Barrington/Ela market does not currently have a quality hotel product,” said Michael P. Holtz, president of MPH Hotels, Inc. “The new Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites will enable more of the guests in this market to stay in this market instead of driving to Palatine or Schaumburg.” As president of MPH Hotels, Inc., Mr. Holtz has been responsible for the development of 15 hotels within the past five years in the United States.
Started in 2003, MPH Hotels, Inc. develops, manages and sells limited service hotels. The company sees a great need for quality lodging in various markets, such as Lake Zurich, and it is trying to efficiently fill this need.
Lake Zurich’s new hotel will be located on property that was formerly the site of Frank’s Nursery. The land for the new Holiday Inn Express was purchased on December 19, 2007, and the previous owner of the property did significant site preparation before handing over the site to MPH Hotels, Inc. Construction then began on June 7, 2008, which involved pouring the cement slab for the hotel. Completion for the hotel is scheduled for around March 15, 2009.

When it is completed, the hotel will have 86 rooms total, including five king suites, 10 double/queen suites, 46 double/queen rooms, three whirlpool suites and 22 king rooms. Rates are expected to start around $99 to $119 a night, and it will consist of a staff of 25 people.
Since it is located near local businesses and the rural market, the new hotel will benefit the local economy by creating jobs and providing a place for visitors to stay. “It will be an added benefit to the community by having a local hotel for their needs and will allow area businesses to house their guests closer to where they are located,” said Holtz.
Because the new hotel is part of a major chain, it will be able to provide the best amenities for its guests. There will be a 24-hour indoor heated pool and hot tub for family fun and relaxation. Meeting facilities for up to 40 people, a boardroom and a 24-hour business center, which will include computers and printers, will be available. The non-smoking hotel will have free high-speed Internet, both hard-wired and wireless, throughout the entire building.

For those who enjoy going to the gym, there will be a 24-hour exercise room. Whirlpool Suites and Executive Suites will also be available. Every room will be equipped with a microwave, a refrigerator and a 32” LCD flat screen TV with premium cable and HBO/pay-per-view movies. Every morning guests can enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Free Express Start Full Hot Breakfast.
With all the amenities and the convenient location of Lake Zurich’s Holiday Inn Express, people will not want to stay anywhere else. Everything travelers could possibly want is provided. Knowing there is now a hotel to provide for their needs, visitors can focus their attention on more important things like relaxing and enjoying all that Lake Zurich has to offer.
