Events and Entertainment
On the weekend after Independence Day, Lincolnwood comes alive to celebrate with a carnival, food, children’s activities, a classic car show, a business expo and musical entertainment at the annual Lincolnwood Fest. Sponsored by the Friends of the Community Center, proceeds from this event provide for improvements to the Center.
The Sunday before Thanksgiving, runners from throughout the area participate in Lincolnwood’s Annual Turkey Trot Run. Since its inception in 1976, the event has grown to include a participation of over 1,500 who walk or run in 5K or 10K courses. Local businesses provide sponsorship both financially and through volunteer services.
The Lincolnwood Public Library held its second Ethnic Fest in 2004. The fest — “The Many Faces of Lincolnwood” —combines performance art, interactive demonstrations and a taste of cuisines from around the world. This community-based festival brings together Lincolnwood’s culturally diverse population, its many organizations and its local businesses.
