Lisle Unit Community District 202 schools offer a challenging and comprehensive top tier academic program for all students, leading to the attainment of knowledge, competencies and skills enabling students to be successful lifelong learners, and productive members of society.

Lisle Senior High School (1800 Short St.) serves 363 ninth-12th grade students from Lisle and portions of Downers Grove and unincorporated areas. Ranked by U.S. News & World Report among the best high schools in the nation, Lisle High School recently was listed in the top five percent of Illinois and all high schools nationally.

The annual ranking analyzes the performance of more than 22,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia on state proficiency tests. Qualifying criteria include student performance in mathematics and reading, the ability of the school to promote the success of all students and the level of success and degree of participation in Advanced Placement courses and exams.

Originally built in 1972, the two-story building saw extensive renovations in 2002 including the addition of band, chorus and drama facilities, a kitchen, expanded media center, science classrooms and new windows.

At Lisle Junior High (5207 Center), a multitude of special curricular and extracurricular offerings are available the school’s 363 sixth- to eigthgrade students. The popular Junior High Science Olympiad competition involves teams of students who study, practice, and/or create devices for competition.

Activities are focused on biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, and technology. Other special activities available to junior high students include cheerleading; the Junior Lionettes Dance Team; an after-school art workshop designed to afford students at all grade levels the opportunity to explore various art media, techniques, and craft projects; and athletics including volleyball, football, basketball, wrestling, track, softball and baseball. The drama program at Lisle Junior High School is designed for both the student with a casual interest in theater and the student with an abiding commitment. Students may participate as cast members or members of the technical crew responsible for scene construction, costuming and lighting.

Younger students attend Tate Woods Elementary for pre-kindergarten, first and second grades, or Scheisher Elementary for kindergarten, and the third through fifth grades.

Since 1987, Lisle United District 202 has leased the Meadows Facility to outside groups. Currently Kindi Academy operates an on-site early childhood center.
