Mayor’s Letter

I’m pleased to once again provide greetings for the annual Chamber of Commerce Directory.

joseph broda

The 2008 Chamber of Commerce Directory is a valuable resource document of Chamber services, and of the many great organizations that comprise the Chamber and make it a strong voice for business in our community.

2008/09 is going to be a very busy year for the Village, one which I believe will be a landmark year. The renovation of our downtown has begun, and it promises to become an attractive, renewed area that residents will use as a destination to walk, shop, eat, and interact with friends in a great environment. Downtown businesses will be proud.

Lisle is proudly the Arboretum Village, and our downtown improvements reflect our close relationship with the Morton Arboretum, a fantastic local resource. Arboretum officials assisted in the selection of plantings for the downtown project. Another high profile resource – the Village of Lisle/Benedictine University Sports Complex – became an immediate success upon its opening for its first full year three years ago, drawing major events to the community. Our first rate hotels – Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, and Wyndham – continue to make us proud of the accommodations provided to our visitors.

As the Chamber of Commerce Directory demonstrates, Lisle is a great place to do business, and we are becoming even greater. Lisle offers an entire roster of businesses – retail, restaurant, service – that promotes a quality business environment and a prosperous community. I continue to offer my thanks to the business community and to the Chamber for making Lisle a wonderful community.

I’m pleased to introduce this 2008 Community Guide. As with previous Guides, you will find it to be a great resource and an overview of what Lisle offers to residents and visitors alike.

Sincerely,

Joseph J. Broda
Mayor
