Lombard continues to grow as a restaurant destination – 40 new restaurants opened in 2006-2007. Many of those are found at Yorktown Center, ranging from upscale experiences at The Capital Grille and Harry Caray’s to more casual dining at RA Sushi, Brio Tuscan Grille, Rock Bottom and Boudin SF. Several new restaurants opened up in 2008, including Miller’s Ale House, Buffalo Wild Wings and Roundheads Pizza. Many area restaurants offer their specialties at the annual “Taste of Lombard” held during the Fourth of July holiday. Top-notch entertainment can be found at two nearby theatres – the Drury Lane in Oakbrook and Pheasant Run in St. Charles. Yorktown’s AMC 18 Cinemas has stadium seating in all of their 18 theatres. Patrons also have the option of attending the “Premium Theatre,” which includes drinks and dining. Every Saturday evening from June through just beyond Labor Day, local car buffs display their magnificent vehicles for all to see in downtown Lombard along St. Charles Road between Main and Elizabeth. This free event allows local residents the opportunity to see a variety of vehicles – from dragsters to antiques to classics – and enjoy some live entertainment, too.
