Lombard’s excellent park district offers numerous programs and summer outdoor music events. The park district maintains about 450 acres of land that includes a lagoon; picnic areas; playgrounds; walking/jogging tracks; and facilities for basketball, soccer, baseball, football, softball, and tennis. A new Lombard Community Pool will be opening in June of 2009. Residents and visitors to Lombard can enjoy the park district’s new Sprinkler Park at St. Charles Road and Lincoln Avenue, which is open to the public during the summer months. Golfers of every skill level can enjoy the 3,000-yard, 9-hole Western Acres Golf Course as well as the Ken-Lock 9-hole golf course.
