Rockford Memorial Hospital’s many specialty programs include a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Addiction Treatment and Education Program (ATEP), Occupational Health and Wellness, and ASK-A-NURSE, a 24- hour health information and referral service.
Swedish American Hospital is a teaching hospital affiliated with the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine at Rockford. They operate schools of Radiology Technology, Radiation Therapy, and a Medical Technology Internship. Programs include a Cardiovascular Center, Regional Cancer Center and Family BirthPlace. Walk-in clinics are found throughout the area including locations in Loves Park and Machesney Park.
Opportunities for continuing education include Rock Valley College, offering a state accredited two-year degree program and on-going adult education. Rockford College, a private four-year college, provides programs in liberal arts and professional education. Northern Illinois University is within commuting distance and a local campus was recently established in Rockford. A variety of vocational schools are available including Rockford Business College with a reputation for producing highly motivated graduates. The Greater Rockford Airport is a full service regional airport providing passenger service to international airports and other cities and serving as a major hub for UPS.
