Organizations
Manhattan has a variety of service and youth organizations. Besides the faith based organizations, the American Legion, Girl and Boy Scout troops, a 4-H Club, Lions Club, Historical Society, Homemakers Education Association, Car Club, PTO, Senior Citizens Group and Woman’s Club offer a chance to serve the community in a special way and enjoy the company of similar minded individuals.
Four churches serve Manhattan with additional faith communities nearby.
The community boasts of a strong youth athletic association, which in 2001 earned the state’s prestigious Home Town Award in the Youth Involvement category. It sponsors baseball, softball, and soccer. In addition a league of mustang football players and mustang cheerleaders compete during the season.
