Since 1989, the Matteson Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC) has supported our member businesses and nonprofit groups in supplying the best in goods and services to the Southland areas we serve. Our goal for 2009 is to continue that tradition and form new ones.
MACC serves as a resource for our retail merchants, service companies and nonprofit groups. Through new 2009 programs, we will work to disseminate information from the Villages, the Chicago Southland Chamber of Commerce, and the Chicago Southland Convention and Visitors Bureau. We will also provide a forum for businesses to get their information out to the membership.
Our new Web site will provide every member with a link so visitors can access their Web site immediately. MACC’s Web site will offer members advertising options at a reasonable price, job postings, community information and a blog so we can get feedback from all who visit. Monthly newsletters and events will be posted as well. And, we will continue to offer our traditional events, such as the installation luncheon, State of the Village luncheon, golf outings, business expos and networking opportunities.
Our communities, like many others across the country, have witnessed a transformation of the retail makeup. A struggling and changing economy has caused many stores to improve and some to close. The proven formula for success in competing for business is superior service, reasonable pricing and a great product.
MACC members are some of the best businesses in the Southland. For that reason, I encourage you to shop here first. To our loyalists, thank you for your patronage. For those who shop elsewhere, I hope that you will use this guide to our communities as an indispensable resource for your shopping needs. The Board of Directors and I encourage you to shop in your neighborhood to create a strong and vibrant business community.
Our member businesses look forward to serving you, your family and your neighbors. Thank you for shopping locally and for supporting your community businesses.
