Mendota Chamber of Commerce

Progress & Prosperity

Mendota enjoys a solid industrial base, affording opportunities to growing companies both new and existing. Seventeen highly diversified manufacturing plants, most with international distribution, presently employ over 1,600 men and women.

Area industrial and business employers benefit from the proximity of training programs provided through Illinois Valley Community College.

Incentives are utilized to attract new industry to the Mendota area. There are area Tax Increment Financing Districts to assist in financing new development and improve infrastructure, and an Enterprise Zone, which provides tax abatements and select tax credits for eligible business. The city administration and an Economic Development Department are focused on planned growth and productive expansion. Mendota’s financial institutions are also prepared to lend strong support to new businesses.

Mendota’s Business Park has a flexible development plan to attract firms needing small to large acreage sites. The City-owned park offers competitive land costs and excellent location advantages. It is located on the east side of Mendota adjacent to Interstate 39. Sites include services by main line Burlington Northern Railroad, close proximity to I-80 and I-88, and municipal water and sewer to the property line.
