Milan is located on the western edge of northern Illinois at the junction of the Mississippi and Rock Rivers. Founded in 1843, Milan is one of several

villages and cities that make up the Quad-City Area. Rich in local history, this area was the home of Chief Blackhawk and his nation of Sac-Fox Indians. The first railroad bridge across the Mississippi River was located near Milan.

The 5,750 plus residents of Milan are proud of their heritage, the strong growth of the community and plans for the future. Milan is especially proud of its Community Center, which is used by people from all parts of the Quad Cities for wedding receptions, business meetings, Christmas parties, and many other types of functions. Brochures with rental information are available at the Center or the Village Clerk’s Office.graphic
