Mokena has made many improvements to village infrastructure to accommodate the community’s rapid growth, and is prepared for further expansion. Mokena’s administration focuses on coordinating growth with the best public services at a reasonable cost.
The Mokena Fire Protection District and the Village were recently awarded a Class 3 fire insurance rating, placing Mokena in the top five percent of rated communities in Illinois and the top three percent in the nation. This marks the second improvement in Mokena’s Fire Rating since 1998. The Frankfort and New Lenox Fire Districts also provide protection services to designated areas of the Village.
A call to the police emergency number or the department non-emergency number is answered by the Lincoln-Way Police Communications Center. The Center dispatches for the Mokena Police Department, providing a cost-effective method of handling public safety. The department offers a number of crime prevention services around the clock.
