Mount Prospect operates under the Council/Manager form of government. The appointed manager administers daily operations within the community, while the elected Village President and Board of Trustees determine Village policy. Seven different departments and divisions (including public works, finance, police, fire, community development, and human services) handle the day-to-day operations of the Village. l
