Mount Prospect Shopping and Services
Mount Prospect has a thriving retail community, which serves both residents and businesses. The numerous shopping areas range from strip malls to major retail centers, including Randhurst and shops in downtown Mount Prospect. Shopping choices include a broad spectrum of retailers that offer every conceivable type of merchandise.
Of particular note is the renaissance of Randhurst, which has recently been updated with numerous improvements.
A new main entrance, new shops, a new Venetian carousel and a Costco warehouse store have made the center a magnet for consumers.
New retail shops are also an important part of downtown Mount Prospect redevelopment. The south end of the Village is also experiencing revitalization as new retail businesses and restaurants (including a new Victoria’s Banquet Hall, Alexian 24-Hour Care Center and Flamingo’s Seafood Restaurant) locate there.
Other consumer services provide for the needs of residents and businesses — including healthcare provided by two nearby hospitals, a number of medical clinics and individual medical practices (including dentists and chiropractors).
The banking community has expanded to serve the needs of residents and businesses, with three new branch offices opening in the past year.
