As a Naperville community member for 33 years, we have seen substantial growth in both the business and residential communities. There are numerous reasons why people want to work and live in our community. Chamber leadership is doing an excellent job of planning for the city’s growth and forming new partnerships within businesses and industry. They have helped the Naperville area become a desirable place to work and live by providing opportunities for business growth, excellent leadership training and long-term professional relationships. Community pride abounds in Naperville’s vital and vibrant downtown area, quality school system and park district, beautiful Riverwalk and its highly professional and prosperous business community. This makes Naperville a leader in Illinois and across the country.
Business and industry operate very differently than it did even a few years ago. High-tech advantages have created new ways to do business and new tools to accomplish it. We communicate our business needs on a global scale, with data and information readily available. The Chamber’s leadership helps in this fast-paced environment by forming partnerships and affiliates that are critical to the competitive and ‘cutting edge’ of Naperville business.
Essential in bringing the business, industrial and residential community together are our neighborhood and community volunteer groups. They accomplish a great deal, working together for a common cause. I have been very involved in numerous community volunteer projects and am amazed at the number of businesses and individuals who give such a tremendous amount of time and energy to help others. Values that relate to morals, ethics and work environment provide the necessary balance between work and family commitments, quality of professional service and respect for all in the community.
Naperville’s industry, working together with local and regional environmental organizations, is helping enforce and put into practice standards that are beneficial to the entire community. Values and practices like these definitely carry over into all aspects of the community’s affairs.
Naperville continues to recognize the importance of a total community balance as local business and industry continues to flourish and prosper. The Chamber provides opportunities for small and large businesses to work together for the benefit of both in the community. This balance helps an individual business grow in proportion with other businesses around it. Opportunities like these keep Naperville’s future thriving and industry growing.
