North Aurora has a world of recreation opportunities ready to be experienced. The banks of the Fox River provide more than just scenic views. Bike paths, parklands and fishing are all available. Bike paths connect to regional paths, so an enthusiast can cycle all the way to DuPage or Lake counties.

The Fox Valley Park District maintains more than 110 parks throughout the region. In addition to the extensive park system, the Fox Valley Park District offers a great variety of programs geared toward everyone from children to seniors and from beginners to intense competitors. The Park District also sponsors a series of summer concerts.

The nearby Red Oak Nature Center (operated by the park district) is a museum surrounded by forty acres of woods. The museum displays exhibits on natural history, and invites hands-on participation for a better understanding of the natural world. Outside the museum, visitors can explore several nature trails that wind through the woods, each designed to showcase a variety of habitats and natural wonders. Picnicking is allowed in designated areas.
