From lively local celebrations and festivals to world-class concert performances, there is always something to do in and around North Aurora.
The Hollywood Casino-Aurora is the area’s premium riverboat and entertainment complex. Its four-story pavilion has some of the area’s finest restaurants, an astounding collection of movie memorabilia and exciting gaming.
Paramount Arts Centre, a restored Art Deco movie palace, hosts a variety of events year round. Shows at the Paramount include musical performances, plays, comedians and more.
In the summertime, the Aurora Fastpitch Softball Association plays at the Stuart Sports Complex, while the Kane County Cougars (the Class “A” affiliate of the Oakland Athletics) challenge league opponents at Elfstrom Stadium in nearby Geneva.
Local festivals bring residents together for family fun year round. North Aurora Days (held the first weekend in August) is a celebration of local heritage that features a craft fair, performances, games, food vendors and much more. Other North Aurora festivities include an annual Pet Parade and holiday-themed events.
