The North Suburban YMCA
Located in the heart of Northbrook, the North Suburban YMCA celebrates over 40 years of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities. The YMCA attracts over 200,000 individuals, from Northbrook and throughout the North Shore.
The YMCA offers a variety of healthy living programs and membership activities for any age group. From superior childcare to adult fitness, to day camp, aquatics, dance, and pick-up basketball games, the YMCA presents an array of possibilities for individuals and families to grow at every life stage. The high level of public consciousness supports the YMCA mission to put the core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility into programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body.
With significant growth in program participation and registration, attitude, energy and excitement, this has been a great year at the North Suburban Y. Fundraising efforts, both on the capital and operational side have been extremely successful and have enabled the Y to completely retire long-standing debt and plan for facility improvements, as well as meet und support obligations to insure that all families and individuals can afford Y services.
In addition, the North Suburban YMCA is on its way towards building the Health and Lifestyle Institute, a virtual wellness mall of fitness programs, lifestyle education, medically supervised services and upgraded sports, and workout and health services facilities. The “mall” is scheduled to include cardiac rehab, physical therapy, pain management, sports conditioning, health screenings, diet and nutritional counseling.
