Community Unit School District 300 comprises an area of 118 square miles in northern Illinois, making District 300 the second-largest school district in Illinois by area. Community Unit School District 300 is a comprehensive pre-kindergarten through 12th grade school district located 45 miles northwest of Chicago in the heart of the Fox River Valley. The district has over 20,000 students across 15 diverse communities and is at the heart of one of the fastest-growing areas in the Midwest, bringing about 500 additional students every year.
Many area students choose to start their college careers by enrolling at Elgin Community College, which offers an extensive curriculum and affordable tuition for students within the college’s regional borders. Judson University, National-Lewis University and a branch of Northern Illinois University are options as well.
