Education K-12

graphicStudents in Northlake have one of the best educational programs in the state. The fact that Northlake students regularly score above the rest of the nation on standardized academic exams reveals that they receive an outstanding education. Northlake Public Schools District #87 and #83 are responsible for the administration of students in grades K-8 at the following schools: Whittier School for grades K-4, Riley School, grades K-4, Roy School, grades K-6, Westdale School, grades K-6 and Northlake Middle School for those in grades 5-8. Excellent parochial education is available at St. John Vianney for grades K-8 and Bethel Fellowship, also for students in K-8. Northlake’s high school students attend either West Leyden High School on North Wolf Road, operated through District 212, or Proviso West High School, administered by District 209 in nearby Hillside. No matter what school they attend, students in Northlake are guaranteed the highest quality education possible.

Northlake also operates The Educational Talent Search "Program Success" (ETS/PS), an educational program designed to help students stay in school, become interested in career choices and secure training after high school. Counselors assist individuals between the ages of 12 and 27 who wish to pursue post-high school educational training and demonstrate financial need, in developing and assessing skills relative to career choices and selecting the best educational and career opportunities.
