Several nearby Colleges and Universities have excellent faculties and programs for Northlake students who wish to continue their education beyond high school. A high percentage of high school graduates in Northlake choose to continue their education. Opportunities for certificates, four-year degrees and graduate level work exist at the dozens of colleges and universities in Cook County and adjacent DuPage County.

Recognized as one of the nation’s finest, Elmhurst College in nearby Elmhurst is one of the best in the United States and is within five minutes of Northlake. The college has been providing quality education and career guidance since 1871. One of the largest independent colleges in Illinois, Elmhurst offers contemporary career development with a liberal arts foundation to a diverse population of more than 2,800 students. Through its 130 year history, Elmhurst has developed into a comprehensive college with 22 academic departments and more than 50 majors.

Triton College in River Grove is one of the largest community colleges in the state. It offers dynamic programs for students of all ages and backgrounds to excel in their chosen fields. Triton College offers a two-year college transfer curriculum that is uniformly respected by the nation’s finest four-year universities in addition to two-year career degrees and certificates from some of the finest career preparation curriculums in the country. Triton College also offers retraining programs for the labor force.

Students from Northlake also attend many universities located right in the City of Chicago. The faculties, research facilities and educational opportunities available through DePaul University, Illinois Institute of Technology, The University of Chicago, The University of Illinois-Chicago, Northwestern University and Loyola University among others, are some of the most prestigious in the world.
