Business & Industry
NSACI supports a strong and powerful commerce sector in the northwest suburbs. With a collection of Fortune 500 Companies as well as small to mid-sized businesses, the region has a market base of more than $4 million. Part of the success of the region can be attributed to NSACI’s commitment to positively impact the business environment. Through its many targeted programs and services, NSACI provides local businesses with unlimited opportunities to promote economic development.
Local government officials and municipalities, many of whom are members of NSACI, contribute to the economic vitality of the area. Careful development and planning minimizes conflict with neighboring properties for both businesses and private residences. Financial programs (such as tax exempt bonds, hotel/motel revenue tax, TIF district, Class 6b property tax programs and industrial revenue bonds) offer incentive for development as well as structural improvement.
Commercial and industrial sites are available throughout the northwest suburbs. Hoffman Estates offers more than 1.5-million square feet of office space total, with seven different office developments. Schaumburg has 12.1-million square feet of office space and 13,250,000-square feet of industrial space. Other cities, such as Elk Grove and Mount Prospect, have a combination of industrial parks and corporate centers.
