One thing is for certain—Mayor Graham and the City Council recognized the need for a Regional Conference Center in O’Fallon, as more people and businesses move in to take advantage of the high quality of life found in this progressive southwestern Illinois community. One piece of evidence in this continual growth is shown through the building of the new Regency Conference Center, strategically located at the northwest corner of Interstate 64 and Green Mount Road— a site that is steadfastly transforming into one of the most accelerated developments in the area.
Just a few miles from St. Louis, the center’s location in O’Fallon has proven to be a significant advantage for both residents and businesses. “In a business sense, we hope to attract events typically held in St. Louis that may not have been considered on this side of the river. We also hope to become an option for associations across southern Illinois,” explained Cat Phillips, general manager of the Regency Conference Center. “From a social aspect, we want to offer a product that is not a typical hall, but rather a venue that exudes elegance, quality and attention to detail…something that fits the perfect mold for weddings, anniversaries and like occasions.”
The versatile 32,000-square-foot Conference Center had its groundbreaking in June 2007, ultimately opening its doors in August of 2008 to events reserved through 2010. The multi-use facility features approximately 13,500 square feet of amenable space equipped with the latest in high-tech facilities such as high-speed wireless Internet, Polycam phones, built-in web conferencing stations and a Zenith sound system—all representing just some of the major highlights available through the center.
The Conference Center’s main Ballroom boasts more than 11,000 square feet, with the capacity to seat 850 comfortably. The facility’s Executive Boardroom is connected to the prized Becky Henry Room, and its Junior Boardroom opens to an additional space that can be made into one large room, or divided in separate sections for a more personal setting.
“We have taken great pride in offering a beautiful Piazza Garden area that will have over 2,000 square feet of patio area [situated adjacent to the center],” Phillips added. “This will become the best place around for outdoor events, as the backdrop to this area includes a six-acre lake with gorgeous fountains.”
Adding to the appeal is the attached Hilton Garden Inn, a 128-room, full-service hotel standing as the perfect supplement for traveling business people and tourists alike. Each guestroom is conveniently supplied with complimentary wireless access; a 32” flat screen HD TV; a hospitality center including a microwave, refrigerator and coffeemaker; and perhaps most importantly, comfortable signature accommodations.
The city is sure to experience a domino effect with this integral offering, as more and more companies, associations and others look to utilize this center as the ideal facility for a variety of endeavors. While these guests venture into O’Fallon for events held at the Regency Conference Center, they, in turn, will not only become more familiar with the city itself, but will also be able to take advantage of the businesses within, such as shopping venues, restaurants and professional services.
