
Just north of Orland Park, students enter the world of higher learning on the expansive campus of Moraine Valley Community College, the seventh largest community college in Illinois.

More than 25,000 area residents participate in classes, seminars, and other activities at the campus each year. About 16,330 people of all ages are enrolled in credit and non-credit classes at Moraine Valley, which awards associate in arts and associate in science degrees in business, liberal arts, and science. It also awards associate degrees in applied science and certificates in more than 80 different career fields.
Moraine Valley students frequently transfer to nearby Governors State University (GSU) to complete their work toward a bachelor’s degree. Governors State also awards master’s degrees in public administration, health, and various other fields.

Robert Morris College is a private, non-profit, accredited, baccalaureate degree-granting institution. At its renovated and expanded Orland Park campus, students may work toward an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, health studies, graphic design or computer networking. Its newest technology building includes a sparkling, state-of-the-art cooking facility for its Culinary Arts Program. Saint Xavier University’s Orland Park campus, which is working on another expansion of its facility, offers a convenient and contemporary learning environment with quality undergraduate and graduate academic programs. Trinity Christian College, in nearby Palos Heights, occupies a 50-acre campus with 17 buildings. It awards bachelor of arts and bachelor of science degrees in 20 majors, including business administration, computer science, elementary education and theology. It also offers nine professional studies, with pre-medical and pre-law among them.

Lewis University has a campus in nearby Hickory Hills offering selected classes. At the university’s main campus in Romeoville, aviation programs set it apart from other colleges and universities in the Chicago metropolitan area. The University offers more than 60 bachelor’s degrees, plus graduate degrees in business administration, criminal/social justice, counseling, psychology, education, leadership studies, nursing, public service administration, and school counseling and guidance.
ITT Technical Institute opened their Orland Park Campus in October of 2006. The campus consists of approximately 30,000 square feet that includes theory classrooms and
laboratories, a resource center, student lounge and administrative offices. The school offers two-year associated applied-science degree program studies in computer and technology related fields. They also offer four-year bachelor applied-science degree program studies in construction management, criminal justice, electronics, communications engineering technology and technical project management.
