Welcome

On behalf of the Village of Oswego, I am pleased to welcome you and your family to our community. Whether you are visiting or making Oswego your home, you will discover that there is a lot to see and do!

There are many local attractions including the Little White School Museum, a 150-year old landmark, which has been restored to its original look. The museum has more than 10,000 photographs and historic artifacts that tell the history of our town. The recently dedicated Veterans Memorial is located in downtown Oswego. The entrance to the Waubonsee Creek Promenade will be located at the foot of the memorial, leading to Hudson Crossing Park, along the Fox River.

Local events include: PrairieFest, an annual festival that attracts more than 30,000 people over the Father’s Day weekend; Christmas Walk, a two-day holiday celebration held the first weekend in December in the downtown area and at the Mason Square shopping center; and the Prairie Soccer Festival which brings more than 7,000 soccer fans to Oswego every Memorial Day weekend. In addition, there are many events held in downtown Oswego during the summer.graphic

Oswego has an excellent variety of parks, including the Civic Center Aquatic Park. The Oswegoland Park District also maintains an extensive hike and bike trail system and year-round activities for all ages. Ready to tee it up? There are two outstanding golf courses to choose from: Fox Bend Golf Course, which is on Route 34, and Blackberry Oaks, which is located just west of Orchard Road.

Oswego is fast becoming a destination for area shoppers and diners. National retailers and restaurants continue to open in Oswego. Many have located at Oswego Commons, a new 500,000 square foot center at Route 34 and Douglas Road.

And don’t miss the chance to visit the shops and restaurants in our historic downtown.

It is a pleasure to welcome you to Oswego, Illinois. For more information on local attractions, events, shopping and dining, please call the Oswego Visitors Bureau at (630) 551-0167. or visit www.visitoswego.org.

Sincerely,
Craig Weber,
Village President
