Located along the Fox River, our historic downtown includes shops, restaurants, and the Oswego Public Library. The Main Street area in downtown Oswego is home to popular stores such as American Male, Periwinkles Cards and Gifts, and Elmer Fudge, a 50s-style candy shop. Also located in the downtown area is The Marmalade Tree, a gift and collectibles shop, a collection of inviting antique outlets, and The Village Grind coffeehouse. Off the beaten path, Emerson Creek Pottery is located in a 100-year-old farmhouse that backs up to 50 acres of prairie grasses and wildflowers. Here, you will find unique gifts and housewares, including tableware, soap dishes, lamps, planting pots and more. The hand painted pottery is all American made in Virginia, lead free and dishwasher safe. Expansion plans include a tearoom for lunches and group gatherings. Pathfinders Place, located on Route 34 behind Walgreens, is a non-profit, non-denominational lending library, bookstore and prayer fellowship/learning center. Experience the coffee bar or a quiet retreat in a creek-side, log cabin in the heart of town.
