Downtown Oswego is home to historic buildings
and homes, as well as shops and restaurants.
Shoppers can visit stores such as American Male and The Marmalade Tree.
Visitors can stop in for coffee at The Village Grind, enjoy a drink at
The Oswego Inn, or have dinner at Baci, an Italian restaurant with a Martini
Bar. The Little White School Museum and the Veterans Memorial Plaza are also located in downtown Oswego. The annual Christmas Walk, as well as several summer events, provide fun for the whole family. In 1999, the Village of Oswego launched a project to enhance the historic downtown district. The project included significant infrastructure and streetscape improvements, such as the installation of brick paved sidewalks, landscaping, and decorative streetlights and benches. The second phase includes the construction of the Hudson Crossing Park along the Fox River, and the Waubonsee Creek Promenade, which will stretch from Main Street to the new park.
