Government

graphicPresident and a Board of Trustees govern the Village of Oswego. A professional staff led by a Village Administrator manages the day-to- day operations of the municipality.

The Village of Oswego Police Department consists of more than 40 sworn officers and three civilian employees. The police department is very aggressive in residential and business patrol. Proactive traffic enforcement is also a very important part of the department’s job. This is done to increase the safety of our neighborhoods and roadways.

The Oswego Fire Protection District serves the northeast region of Kendall County. Within the 66-square-miles making up the Oswego Fire Protection District, there are two municipalities (Oswego and Montgomery) and five townships. Oswego Fire Protection District employs a combination of full-time, part-time and paid-on-call personnel. Two additional fire stations are being planned. The fire district operates two stations, one on Main Street in Oswego and one at the corner of 5th and Wiesbrook near the Kendall 10 Theater.
