Parks and Recreation

The Palatine Park District maintains 44 parks, including the beautiful 195-acre, 18-hole championship Palatine Hills Golf Course with pro shop and clubhouse.

The Family Aquatic Center features two 180-foot slides, two tot slides, sand play area, 6-lane lap pool, and a large lawn area. Palatine Stables provide lessons and even boarding. The Community Center has an indoor track, gymnasium, gymnastics facilities, locker rooms, weight room and classrooms.

Birchwood Park Recreation Center offers a gymnasium, plus dance, preschool, and babysitting areas. And, the 50-acre Palatine Trail winds scenically through neighborhood parks, the Palatine Hills Golf Course, Deer Grove Forest Preserve, and Harper College. Cutting Hall is a 430-seat auditorium where Palatine residents enjoy all aspects of theatrical entertainment throughout the year.

The Palatine Park District also oversees and operates the George Clayson Historical Museum and Library. The Salt Creek Rural Park District is located within the boundaries of three cities - the southeast limits of Palatine, western edge of Arlington Heights, and the north-central border of Rolling Meadows. The Salt Creek Park District is the "Best Kept Secret" offering a nine-hole executive golf course, fishing, boating, youth and adult athletics and trips and a popular preschool program.
