Serving Park Ridge
Streets & Alleys
The streets and alleys in the city are maintained by the Public Works Department. Streets are cleaned and swept at regular intervals during the spring, summer and fall. Snow is removed in winter according to continually updated snow removal plans to clear all streets within 24 hours of a storm.
Garbage and trash are removed by city contractors once a week according to a schedule. Homeowners must call ARC Disposal at 847-981-0091 to arrange for a special pickup to dispose of any white goods (refrigerators, ranges, water heaters, air conditioners, etc.) automobile tires and truck tires. There is a charge for this service. The city’s contractor is not responsible for the collection of construction materials.
The city provides brush pick up services of tree and shrub clippings on regular garbage days from mid-March to mid-November. The city also participates in curbside recycling. Recycling bins, including a list of items that can be recycled, can be purchased at City Hall, the Public Works Service Center (1200 Elm St.), or at the Public Library (20 S. Prospect).
City-owned distribution lines deliver Lake Michigan water (purchased from the City of Chicago) to Park Ridge residents. Meters are read by the residents and billed every two months.
