Edward Hospital & Health Services is a full-service, regional healthcare provider, serving the residents of the Plainfield area and Chicago’s southwestern suburbs. Edward offers access to complex medical specialties and innovative programming, such as open heart surgery and comprehensive cardiac care, revolutionary imaging technology, care for the most critically ill newborns, minimally invasive surgery, in vitro fertilization, access to the latest clinical trials for cancer and heart disease and the latest mind and body classes. In addition to Edward Hospital in Naperville, the Edward Plainfield Outpatient Center, located at 127th Street and Van Dyke Road in Plainfield, provides immediate care, imaging services, an on-site laboratory and community classes and events. Other Edward services are available in Building B on the Edward Plainfield campus, including medical oncology from Edward Cancer Center, The Fertility Institute at Edward, Edward Center of Perinatal Medicine, Edward Hospital physical therapists and behavioral health professionals from Linden Oaks at Edward. Many independent specialists also have offices in Building B, including pediatricians, cardiologists, obstetricians, gynecologists, allergists, ophthalmologists and primary care physicians. The Plainfield Surgery Center, a joint venture between Edward and area surgeons, is also located on the Edward Plainfield campus and is scheduled to open in 2008. Edward is proposing to build the Edward Plainfield Cancer Center, a 30,000 square foot outpatient facility. The Center could open in late 2008 or early 2009, pending approval from the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board.

PROVENA SAINT JOSEPH MEDICAL CENTER
Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center provides many advanced healthcare services typically found in a university hospital setting. The 28 Family Birthing Suites, a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with extended capabilities, Pediatric Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit provide important healthcare services to women and children throughout the community. Through a partnership with the University of Illinois at Chicago, 475-bed Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center is the only medical center in Will County to perform intra-cranial stroke and trauma neurosurgical procedures. The Saint Joseph Heart Center is an entire floor solely dedicated to the treatment of the heart and centered on the area’s only open-heart surgery program, offering patients an advanced level of cardiac care that’s unprecedented anywhere in the region. Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center is presently undergoing a major renovation and construction project that will result in a new eight-story patient tower and all private patient rooms, as well as many special amenities that will create an environment expressly designed to promote family-centered care and enhance clinical outcomes. In addition, Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center serves the community’s wide-range of health care needs through its Sister Theresa Cancer Care Center, Level II Emergency/Trauma Center, Rehabilitation Services, Mental Health Services, Sleep Disorder Center and Retina Center.
