Welcome to the Village of Plainfield! I would like to take a moment to introduce you to our lovely commnity. Plainfield is a prosperous and bustling Village that has grown to include approximately 40,000 residents. The Village takes great pride in the progress that has occurred over the years.
I would like to invite you to explore the Village and take advantage of what Plainfield has to offer. Spend a day shopping and dining in our historic downtown, take a walk back in time by visiting the Historical Society Museum and restored EJ&E Depot, view rare and exotic birds at the Lake Renwick Heron Rookery Nature Preserve or spend the day fishing and canoeing on the beautiful DuPage River.
Make sure that Settlers’ Park is also on your list of “must see” places in Plainfield. The park is located in Downtown Plainfield, just south of the Village Hall. Pack a picnic and spend the day enjoying the park, which features the Richard A. Rock Amphitheater, a history walk detailing the community’s past, a restored war monument, a playground, lake and walking trails. It is also home to the annual summer concert and movie series.
Plainfield is a wonderful place to live, work and play! For more information on the Village, visit our Web site, www.plainfield-il.org.
Sincerely yours,
Michael P. Collins
