Schools & Education

graphicPlano Community Unit School District #88 consists of two elementary schools, one junior high, and one high school. In addition there is one parochial school (St. Mary’s) that offers PreK-8.

Junior and seniors may study a wide range of occupational courses at a local vocational center, and graduating seniors have a number of educational options within commuting distance.

Students who wish to further their education beyond high school have an opportunity to select from a number of different institutions, including: Waubansee Community College, Sugar Grove; Northern Illinois University, DeKalb; The University of Chicago, Chicago; Aurora University, Aurora; DeVry Institute of Technology, Lombard; Lewis University, Romeoville; North Central College, St. Charles.

In addition to the schools, Plano has an excellent library, which is an original Carnegie Library. A referendum just passed to fund the expansion of this facility to meet the continuing needs and demands of the community.
