Perry Memorial Hospital is a modern 98-bed medical care center licensed by the State of Illinois and fully accredited by The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The hospitals comprehensive services include general surgery, a womens health care unit, a pediatric unit, a skilled care unit, physical, occupational and respiratory therapy, pathology, intensive care, a radiology department utilizing the latest in radiological equipment and techniques, and a fully-equipped emergency department staffed 24 hours with an in-house physician. Available, too, are various hospital-sponsored health programs such as pre-natal classes and programs for diabetic, cancer and cardiac patients and their families, as well as other education and support programs. Perry Memorial works cooperatively with area industry to develop appropriate safety and health programs to serve their industrial and employee needs. The city-owned facility has two off-campus buildings. Perry Home Medical Supply is located at 531 S. Main Street in Princeton, and Perry Plaza is two blocks east of the hospital at 526 Bureau Valley Parkway. Perry Plaza houses PMH Linen Services and other organizations, including the Bureau County Health Department, In-Home Care VNA, Bureau Valley Hospice and North Central Behavioral Health Systems. Princetons concern for health care is also shown by a number of long-established private service providers, including centers serving handicapped and disabled adults and children, and quality convalescent, intermediate care and nursing home facilities.
