
Rockton is a small town full of big events! We are proud of the partnerships between our businesses, organizations, individuals and families that make Rockton an exciting, spirited place to live or visit all year long.
Spring ushers in the Ro-Ro Expo, an exhibition of local businesses; an Easter Egg Hunt in Village Green Park; the Gathering at Macktown, a living history event; the Rhubarb Festival, a rhubarb tasting extravaganza; the American Legion Memorial Day Parade; and SALEing Rt. 75, an eight-town, forty-mile garage sale.
Summer features the Rockton Chamber of Commerce Golf Play Day at Macktown Golf Course; the Rockton Triathlon, a 400-yard swim, 15-mile bike and three-mile run in downtown Rockton; Old Settlers Days, a family event filled with live music, carnival rides, food and crafts; Art in the Park, an arts and crafts fair sponsored by the Hononegah Federated Women Club; the New Teacher Breakfast, an event welcoming new teachers to our communities; the Hononegah High School Booster Club Purple and Gold Fest, a celebration that recognizes student athletes and kicks off the sports season; and Rockton’s Annual Twilite Run, a 5K course that winds throughout historic Rockton’s downtown, parks and residences.
Fall is a time for the Pumpkin Daze sponsored by William’s Tree Farm; Harvest Home Festival, a fall festival in Village Green Park; the Hometown Festival of Lights, a four-city, 12-mile lighted driving route; and the renowned Peppermint Swirl Craft Show at Hononegah High School, featuring arts and crafts for the
season.
The winter season begins with Christmas Walk Weekend, held annually the first weekend in December. This event is a family favorite and attracts thousands of people to downtown Rockton. The village streets come alive with carriage rides, Santa’s reindeer and holiday elves. Feature attractions include the Lighting of Village Green Park, Breakfast with Santa, a Holiday House Lighting Contest, The Santa House, Lighted Luminaries, downtown holiday shopping and our famous Lighted Christmas Parade. Restaurants and community organizations create tempting holiday buffets for all to enjoy.
